This project involved the renovation and expansion of a fully operational airport. A new terminal was added to the existing facility which consisted of structural steel, structural metal studs and a metal clad façade. In one portion of the facility, a second floor was constructed over an existing occupied first floor that contained all of the ticketing offices. While these were the two main new construction areas, KCC renovated (10) other areas throughout the facility to include new restrooms and a complete relocation to the TSA checkpoint area. This project was a true coordination effort between all involved parties since the facility is only closed approximately 5 hours per day.
